Re: Frankfurt away
Club London got 18% of the allocation so about 430 seats to be balloted for their 3500 members.

So looks like Brady got her mate to give a large chunk to her corporate mates

Or we sold 2000 seats to AST, Bondholders and people with 55 points or more...... i know what im banking on

Irish pub it is

Huggie, where was that you saw that up for auction previously?

Re: Frankfurt away
Unfortunately we will have to accept that a small percentage goes to corporate and players / staff friends and family.

I think that’s the point. In this instance I don’t believe it is a small percentage.

We have 500 less this time but sold out on 30+ points higher. I do not believe that we only have 500 people between the two figures even allowing for those on higher points taking a first European trip of the season.

Re: Frankfurt away
Best way to buy a bond is when someone puts them up for auction. Very expensive though. about £4k last one that went I think. My bid wasn't even close even though it was way above the price of the previous winning bid.

Re: Frankfurt away
Bonds can be transferred so unless the holder takes it to the grave with them, they'll still be around.

Re: Frankfurt away
RB - have you got a number of where you are on the waiting list?
When i got added, i just was added but they did not actually say hoy many were in the queue, so I don't know if it is likely i will get one before I die due to Karen Bradyesq ST waiting list numbers, or whether in a few years i will be at the front of the queue.

As far as I know, you can't.

I’m trying to get hold of a couple of bonds exactly for away tickets… such a long waiting list!

Re: Frankfurt away
Points used to get reset each season to include just the previous season to ensure that people were 'current'.

My posts below were stating facts, not having a dig at anyone.

Likewise;

It's all well and good saying that people have been to every game this season and still missed out but they have missed out to people who have done the same this season and the last couple of seasons possible, in 99% of cases.

Unfortunately we will have to accept that a small percentage goes to corporate and players / staff friends and family. It doesn't 'bother' me as I have 82 points but I do understand.

Whether they admit it or not, the club appear to be trying to ensure the AST list dwindles as quickly as possible. Eventually it will not exist and as bond holders get older, that will free up approx 650 tickets (AST) and quite a few potential applications through bond holders. Not sure how many of them exist...I think around 300 active now?

It's a double edged sword, if the club do make changes to the current system, the fans who have been attending away games consistently and for longer will get pissed off. They're the ones who typically have attended in less happier times and may be the only ones who bother if those days return. Which they will.

Got flight and hotel booked but not sure I'm going to bother now, a long way to go to watch it in a pub.......

Re: Frankfurt away
My brother-in-law just scraped in for a ticket at 9am this morning with 56 points. He was a bit miffed, however, because the ticket office hadn’t added a point for his Brighton ticket in time, which would have enabled him to have bought, instead, on 57 points at 5pm last night.

Re: Frankfurt away
Am england travel member and they do it a bit different.

2 points for away games. 1 point for home games.
No points allocated for going to championship games like the euros.

You also have to scan ticket at turnstyle to make sure your point gets added.

Rossal’s two posts are correct.

Something doesn’t feel right about this and as the saying goes “if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks then it’s a fucking duck”

yep good points, it is so difficult to get right. It just seems to have got much more difficult since the away tickets went down to £30 and we can only apply digitally through the website. But I don't think you can change it without punishing those that really put in the hard graft following the club everywhere, which would be more unfair.

Syd Puddefoot 1:49 Tue Apr 26
of course, and as you mentioned it's those that buy a ticket and don't go. I've been to more away games over the last few years on someone else's ticket than my own so I'm contributing to this 'closed shop' myself.

Telford Iron, you should just fly from Manchester to Cologne about £100 return last time I looked

Re: Frankfurt away
Huffers - when do PPs go back to then? Is it 4 years? If so then I understand why there are so many people with so many more than me even though I've done most aways that we've been allowed to attend the last two seasons due to Covid.

I would be interested to know how many went to corporates etc though.

Crossed Hammers - thats a fair point.

Re: Frankfurt away
Theres 600 difference in allocation yet its sold out to 35 points higher

something doesnt add up, ticket office have fucked over the fans who have spent thousands this season travelling up and down the country and across europe.

Rossal 1:56 Tue Apr 26
Re: Frankfurt away
Theres plenty who have been, home and away......including euro trips etc and can't get a ticket with 50+ points

Its disgusting

MrSnoogans 12:50 Tue Apr 26

Sadly that doesn't work - who lives where? Chap who sits in front of me at home games travels from Swindon every game. And giving more points for aways like Europe just pushes some even higher up the list.

It's a really difficult thing to get right - and to be honest, I'm not sure there is a 'right'. The argument has been going on forever with England (two points for home or away).
